Corona, Corona, Where Ya Been So Long?

Use it now or never use it again. So we have.

But seriously: we ain't never seen nothin' like this. All live sports events have been cancelled. Grocery stores are out of things they've never been out of, and -- OMG, now things are really getting bad --  the Port Huron St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl has been cancelled.  (Not to worry, though. A contingent of serious hard-core drunks managed to carry on this time-honored local tradition.)

Fortunately, beer isn't one of the items everyone's out of.  When the beer trucks stop running and the stores get down to their last cooler of Bud Light, then you'll really see some panic buying.

Newspapers have printed editorials reminding those who still read newspapers that, at this time of unprecedented crisis, it's important to maintain a sense of community. Be considerate of other humans. "Our obligation to our fellow man," opined the writer of this op-ed piece that appeared in the Harold last week.

On the subject of our fellow man re the Corona Corona bug, Pete and I share an opposing point of view.

In our community, there's a certain hard-core contingent of  fellow humans -- you've met some of them in previous posts -- and we hope they catch it. Whatever happens after that happens, but we seriously hope all of them start coughing and sneezing and wheezing, and end up on ventilators with tubes shoved down their throats. Whatever. Just so they stay away from us, and instead spread the plague among their fellow Port Huron lowlife.

This would go a long way to make up for no sports on TV, and having our toilet paper purchases limited to one package per visit.
